Moving Fascia is a practice of relationship, a way of listening through movement, breath, and touch. As we soften to the pressure of the ball or the ground beneath something begins to reorganise. We restore ease, expand perception, and meet ourselves in motion in dialogue with self, and the environment.
This retreat brings the Moving Fascia practice into a spacious, immersive format four days of guided exploration, shared rhythm, and the quiet power of being in place.
I’m Ana Barretxeguren, the creator of Moving Fascia®, a fascia-focused somatic movement method that supports people in restoring ease, minimising pain, and deepening their relationship with breath and movement.
I’ve been teaching embodied anatomy to movement and manual therapy practitioners for the last two decades, and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Anatomical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh.
But my path is more than academic. I live with catamenial pneumothorax, a rare condition of recurrent lung collapses, which continues to shape my understanding of breath, body, and fascia. Each collapse has been an opportunity to meet breath, rhythm, repair, and the quiet intelligence of cycle. This lived experience fuels my ongoing inquiry into the visceral body and the landscape within.
“The practice of Moving Fascia speaks of movement as dialogue. We yield to the pressure of the ball, soften to the input of the environment, and restore movement not as isolated function, but as relationship.”
When the inside becomes subject rather than object, when we honour its motility, its hidden rhythms, something inside reorganises.
It feels important to offer an opportunity to connect with self, to relate with others, and to move with the more-than-human world around us.
I hope you can join me.
Blending fascial release with somatic exploration,
Moving Fascia® supports the body’s innate capacity to reorganise, restore and heal.
With the input of soft proprioceptive tools like the Moving Fascia® ball, we explore hidden patterns of tension, awaken dormant relationships within the body, and grow a more integrated sense of presence through movement.
Whether you’re a movement teacher, bodyworker, therapist or simply curious about fascia and embodiment, this retreat offers a nourishing pause. Come to deepen your felt sense, refresh your perspective, and be supported by nature, community and the rhythm of the land.
Our signature soft balls are designed to meet your body, not to force it. Their adaptability offers a responsive input that supports yielding rather than guarding and stimulates a deeper interoceptive awareness.
You’ll be provided with a full set during the retreat, and they’re yours to take home for continued support, practice, and exploration beyond the forest.
Over the four days, the Moving Fascia sessions will follow the rhythm of the Moving Fascia principles: SERI (Soften, Expand, Restore, Integrate).
Each session will carry its own tone and focus, guiding you through a journey that:
Soften unnecessary tension
Expands into new-found space
Restores relational movement patterns
Integrates a deeper connection to self, others, and the world around us
