with Ana Barretxeguren
8-11 May 2026 | Cabilla, Cornwall
A four-day retreat for the practice of Moving Fascia, immersed in the ancient rainforest of Bodmin Moor.
Moving Fascia is a practice of relationship, a way of listening through movement, breath, and touch. As we soften to the pressure of the ball or the ground beneath, something begins to reorganise. We restore ease, expand perception, and meet ourselves in motion, in dialogue with self, and the environment.
This retreat brings the Moving Fascia practice into a spacious, immersive format with four days of guided exploration, shared rhythm, and the potency of being in place.
Cabilla's rare temperate rainforest, an ancient oak woodland is the home of our Moving Fascia retreat.
The soil, the light, the rhythm of the land will shape the atmosphere of our time together.
Our sessions won’t happen in a place, but with it – inviting you to attune to the environment, and to notice how your body and movement respond, adapt, and co-create in a continuous, relational exchange.
Swipe through to get a feel for the land and spaces that will hold us.

This retreat is for curious humans that want to reconnect to their own fabric, learn from the land and explore a fascia-focused approach that values movement as a form of dialogue.
Whether you come from Pilates, yoga, somatics, bodywork, breath-work or fascia-informed practice, this retreat offers space to deepen your own embodiment, refresh your perspective, and be nourished by nature, community and the rhythm of the land.
I’m Ana Barretxeguren, the creator of Moving Fascia®, a fascia-focused somatic movement method that supports people in restoring ease, minimising pain, and deepening their relationship with breath and movement.
I’ve been teaching embodied anatomy to movement and manual therapy practitioners for the last two decades, and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Anatomical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh.
But my path is more than academic. I live with catamenial pneumothorax, a rare condition of recurrent lung collapses, which continues to shape my understanding of breath, body, and fascia. Each collapse has been an opportunity to meet breath, rhythm, repair, and the quiet intelligence of cycle. This lived experience fuels my ongoing inquiry into the visceral body and the landscape within.
“The practice of Moving Fascia speaks of movement as dialogue. We yield to the pressure of the ball, soften to the input of the environment, and restore movement not as isolated function, but as relationship.”
When the inside becomes subject rather than object, when we honour its motility, its hidden rhythms, something inside reorganises.
It feels important to offer an opportunity to connect with self, to relate with others, and to move with the more-than-human world around us. What better place to do this than under the canopy of centenary oaks, beside the clear water and sounds of the river, and held by a community of movers gathering in person.
I hope you can join me.
Cabilla’s off-grid wooden Koyts sit gently within the landscape, offering warmth, stillness, and a close connection to the natural world.
Each cabin has a log burner, soft Egiptian cotton bedding, hot water bottles, and windows that open to the trees and sky. Bathrooms are a short stroll away in the communal barn area.
Bespoke log burner, with firewood, kindling and matches
Comfortable cotton bed linen and towels provided
Hairdryers and Luxury Bramley toiletries
Individual shower in the communal barn area a short stroll away
Moonsoon shower with underfloor heating
Battery-powered lighting
Hot water bottles
Our signature soft balls are designed to meet your body, not to force it. Their adaptability offers a responsive input that supports yielding rather than guarding and stimulates a deeper interoceptive awareness.
You’ll be provided with a full set during the retreat, and they’re yours to take home for continued support, practice, and exploration beyond the forest.
Over the four days, the Moving Fascia sessions will follow the rhythm of the Moving Fascia principles: SERI (Soften, Expand, Restore, Integrate).
Each session will carry its own tone and focus, guiding you through a journey that:
Soften unnecessary tension
Expands into new-found space
Restores relational movement patterns
Integrates a deeper connection to self, others, and the world around us
Four days with daily Moving Fascia® sessions
Rainforest walks and nature-based movement
Outdoor sauna and fire pits
River and forest bathing
Space to rest, reflect and re-connect
Nourishing meals by Sophie Gordon
